Nuuk, Greenland is an anchor port. The tidal variance for this port is 4,4 m for spring tide, and 2,1 m for mean tidal condition.

The distance from Halifax to Boston is 386 n.m. Thereby making the turn around in New York is better than in Boston, even though the distance is 180 n.m. closer to Boston, since one day cannot be gained anyway.

The vessel speed requirement for the above cruise itinerary is 19,0 knots.

Harwich - Southampton, 15 Days

Cruise Starting: Harwich

A UK-based cruise with an interesting mix of North Atlantic destinations, including the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, and Newfoundland.
Potentially attractive to consumers seeking a transatlantic experience without the need for return air.
Useful to reinforce the concept that Newfoundland and Labrador is a key North Atlantic destination and is in fact reachable from Europe in a cruise of reasonable duration.

A version of the twenty-one day round-trip itinerary, optimized for the German market.
Offers overnights in Cork and Amsterdam, which are likely to stimulate significant interest among consumers. More research would be needed to determine whether the German market would place a higher value on Amsterdam because it is so well-known to them, or a lower value because it is so accessible by land.

Boston - Boston, 7 Days, (Higher Speed)

Cruise Starting: Boston
Cruise Ending: Boston
Length of Cruise: 7 days
Itinerary # NRT2
With high speed, the vessel can call at both St. John's and Corner Brook, and even overnight in Halifax.
Enhanced destination content vs. NRT1, by virtue of inclusion of St. John's in place of Sydney, and an overnight stay in Halifax which should be positively received by consumers due to Halifax's name recognition. Due to geography and ship speed it is not possible to overnight in NL ports and reach home in time.
Speed range is on the high side at 20 – 21.5 knots which has fuel impacts.

New York - New York, 8 Days

Cruise Starting: New York
Cruise Ending: New York
Length of Cruise: 8 days
Itinerary # NRT3
New York departures provide access to North America's densest and most affluent cruise market. Positive exposure in this market can yield great benefits to the province in terms of future inbound tourism and brand recognition.
Eight-night length is not a major issue, as these sailings can be coupled with a six-night itinerary (such as Bermuda or shorter Canada / New England) in order to adhere to a manageable operational schedule. Eight nights is acceptable to consumers as well, since it requires no additional vacation time v/v a seven-night cruise; a Saturday departure returning the following Sunday requires the same five days off from work.
Three sea days approaches the upper limit of desirability, especially without guaranteed "pool deck" weather, but have the offsetting benefit of increased onboard revenue and a more rested group of guests.

St. John's - St. John's, 7 Days

Cruise Starting: St. John’s
Cruise Ending: St. John’s
Length of Cruise: 7 days
Itinerary # NRT4
A truly unique, in-depth Newfoundland and Labrador experience, with St. Pierre included in order to satisfy Canadian cabotage laws.
The shear volume of port stops defines this product as one for active vacationers with an affinity for the Maritime environment and/or a pre-existing appreciation for Newfoundland and Labrador. In other words, would practically sell itself to a finite segment of the consumer market, potentially enough to fill a 700-passenger ship, but would probably require too much effort in the mainstream market to generate sufficient demand for a larger ship.

Alternating seven-night itineraries that call in non-overlapping ports are frequently combined to form fourteen-night cruises for those guests with the means, time, and desire to stay onboard.

St. John's - St. John's, 7 Days

Cruise Starting: St. John’s
Cruise Ending: St. John’s
Length of Cruise: 7 days
Itinerary # NRT7
The fourth of the seven-night round-trips from St. John's, and distinct from the others in terms of destination content.
Overnight in Corner Brook is an appealing feature, complementing the other more nature-focused destinations. Woody Point and Norris Point can each be used for a half-day with access to Gros Morne.
The itinerary has operational and guest-experience challenges by calling at four consecutive ports which require tendering, which is sub-optimal. The audience for this type of product, however, is more willing to sacrifice a few minutes of comfort in order to reach and experience the wealth of destinations offered herein.

New York - Quebec, 14 days

Cruise Starting: New York
Cruise Ending: Quebec
Length of Cruise: 14 days
Itinerary # NOJ5
A significantly longer cruise, with time to reach three CANAL destinations plus Greenland, which carries a beneficial reputation for being rugged, exotic, and blessed with bountiful opportunities to experience unspoiled nature.
The cruise length and destination content will shift the appeal of this itinerary towards a more mature audience of sophisticated travelers. In today's cruise industry, fortuitously, there has been such a growth of demand that even lines with ships in the 1,500-pax range can successfully market such a product. With mid- to large-size ships eligible for this type of itinerary, the resulting potential for increased traffic, tourism economic impact, and consumer experience with CANAL destinations could be quite attractive.
